Our Pledge
We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
Federal Fair Housing Act
The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on the following protected classes:
- Race
- Color
- National origin
- Religion
- Sex
- Familial status (including children under the age of 18 living with parents or legal custodians, pregnant women, and people securing custody of children under the age of 18)
- Handicap (disability)
Utah State Protections
In addition to federal protections, the State of Utah prohibits discrimination in housing based on:
- Source of income
- Sexual orientation
- Gender identity
